The incident happened around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 5th Street and Erie Avenue.
Police say the 28-year-old man was crossing the intersection when he was approached by two suspects who robbed him and then shot him in the chest and stomach.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital by police where he is now listed in stable condition.
The gunmen fled on foot eastbound on Erie Avenue having made off with a wallet, cell phone and 2 SEPTA train passes.
