Ocean City won't charge military, vets for beach

OCEAN CITY, N.J. - October 26, 2011

Ocean City's council unanimously passed an ordinance Tuesday to offer free beach badges to members of the military and veterans starting next summer.

The town raised $3.8 million for lifeguards and beach maintenance from the sale of beach tags in 2011.

Ocean City American Legion Post 524 commander Robert Marzulli told The Press of Atlantic City he'll work with the city on the plan.
