The York, Pa.-based retailer announced Tuesday that it's selling the stores in the suburban towns of Greece, Henrietta and Victor to Rochester-based Wilmorite Corp. for more than $13 million. Nearly 190 people work at the three stores, which are located in Wilmorite-owned malls.
Bon-Ton also announced that it plans to close a store in the Northwest Mall in Dayton, Ohio, and another in York.
The company operates 275 stores in 23 states under the Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's, Parisian and Younkers nameplates.
Bon-Ton has 18 other stores in upstate New York.
