$25,000 reward for help solving grocery murders

PHILADELPHIA - November 12, 2011

It happened on September 6, 2011 outside of Lorena's Grocery at 50th and Parrish in West Philadelphia.

Instead of enjoying his 50th birthday, store owner Porfirio Nunez was robbed and killed along with 44 year old Johana Duran and 48 year old Lina Sanchez.

The gunmen forced the 19 year old survivor to watch as they killed her family while sparing her life.

"They let me see everything," she said. Like the guy was just, holding my head and making me turn around and see everything."

The surveillance video caught the two killers walking toward the store. One appears to be talking on the cell phone. Another camera captures them running from the store after the robbery.

Authorities are looking for the driver of a white, Ford Econoline work van spotted in the area at the time. They are hoping the driver may have seen something that can help them catch the killers.

There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killers. The number to call is 215-546-TIPS.

"Somebody knows these people," says Santo Montecalvo of the Citizens Crime Commission. "Give us a call. You will remain anonymous. We will give it to the homicide division. They will make the apprehension. We need some help."

Both suspects are described as African-American, approximately 25 years of age. One was 5'4" to 5'6", thick build with a mustache. He was wearing a black hat and a black shirt. The other suspect was 6', thin build, wearing a black hat, a long sleeved white, thermal shirt with a black t-shirt on top.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS. A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to arrests and conviction.
