Police responded to a call for shots fired inside an apartment building in the 600 block of Jordan Street just before midnight Tuesday.
When they arrived, officers discovered the body of 18-year-old John Briele, whose last known address was on the 500 block of N. Naugle Street.
The coroner has ruled his death a homicide.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
There is no word on suspects or a motive.
