Police: Woman bank bandit, accomplice arrested in Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. - April 12, 2012

Also under arrest is an alleged accomplice.

Victoria Ludwig, 37, of Wilmington was arrested Wednesday and charged with robbery, conspiracy and related offenses in connection with four bank holdups.

Keith Whitaker, Jr., 28, also of Wilmington is charged with robbery and conspiracy in one of the holdups.

Police say the latest bank robbery occurred on Wednesday at approximately 11:52 a.m. as a female suspect entered the PNC Bank located inside the Super G Food Market at 4301 Concord Pike in Wilmington.

The female suspect approached the teller and presented a demand note for money, implying that she had a gun. The teller complied and the suspect fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.

A short time later, a Delaware State Trooper spotted a car matching the description of a suspect vehicle that was observed leaving the area of the robbery. Troopers conducted a vehicle stop on Lancaster Pike in the area of the Lancaster Court Apartments, west of the City of Wilmington.

The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Ludwig and Whitaker. Both were arrested. Ludwig was linked to three other holdups and charged. Whitaker was charged with Wednesday's holdup.

Both are behind bars. Bail for Ludwig has been set at $123,500. Bail for Whitaker has been set at $26,000.
