Statue of Paul Bunyan stolen

NEW CENTERVILLE, Pa. (AP) - April 17, 2012

The Johnstown Tribune-Democrat reports that the statue was stolen Friday from in front of a shop in New Centerville, about 65 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

Owner Michael Miller says the folklore lumberjack vanished along with the wooden bench he was resting on.

Miller says he paid about $1,200 for the fiberglass statue, which was dressed in a frontiersman-style hat and blue coat.
