A biker is dead after his motorcycle slammed into an SUV on Tuesday morning in New Castle, Delaware.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on Route 273 (Christiana Road) near Edinburgh Drive.

Police say the 1985 Honda Sabre motorcycle, driven by Steven P. Bowdle, 20, of Delaware City, hit the BMW SUV on the passenger side door.

Police say the driver of that SUV, Christopher R. Guy, 41, of Newark, was making a left-hand turn when the vehicle was struck.

The view from the Action Cam showed heavy damage to the side of that SUV. The vehicle appeared to have left the roadway.

The motorcycle was on its side in the middle of the street.

Bowdle - who was wearing a helmet - was rushed to Christiana Hospital with injuries to the head, chest and extremities. He later succumbed to those injuries.

Guy was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries and was later taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

An investigation into this crash continues.
