Man on bike shot in Camden, suspects caught after chase

Two people have been arrested after a man on a bike was shot in Camden, in an act of violence that was witnessed by police.

It all began around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of Kossuth of Jefferson streets.

Police say a 33-year-old man, who was on the bike, was shot in the lower torso.

Officers on routine patrol witnessed the shooting and gave chase. The suspects, in a car, caused one crash at Ferry Avenue and Mechanic Street then crashed again at 3rd Street and Kaigh Avenue.

That's where the suspects were finally arrested. A third suspect is being sought, police said.

There was no word on the identities of those involved.

The man who was shot was taken Cooper University Hospital. Medics said he had stable vital signs.
