Attorney General Linda Kelly said Thursday that law enforcement officers raided more than 50 sites across the state. The powerful narcotics were outlawed in Pennsylvania last year.
Kelly says search warrants were executed Wednesday at homes, convenience stores, gas stations, smoke shops and other businesses.
The raids took place in eight counties: Philadelphia, Allegheny, Lehigh, Luzerne, Montgomery, Northampton, Washington and Westmoreland.
Authorities seized more than 300,000 doses of the synthetic drugs. They also found about 50,000 pieces of drug paraphernalia and $250,000 in cash and assets.
No arrests were announced, but state police Commissioner Frank Noonan says the investigation is continuing and charges are expected.
