NJ dentists give free dental care to veterans

GIBBSBORO, N.J. - August 3, 2012

Jim Hamilton served in the United States Navy as a boiler technician. Now as a token of appreciation, Lakeview Dental is cleaning and examining his teeth for free.

The Gibbsboro, New Jersey facility will be helping dozens of other veterans for their first Veteran's Appreciation Day on August 15th.

Doctors Jonathan Hill and Eric Forte came up with the idea.

"Veterans put everything at stake when they served and it's just a little something that we can give back to help them," said Dr. Hill.

Staff members will be donating their time to help vets stay healthy.

"We're doing cleanings, we're doing routine extractions - anything they may have been putting off. Anything that may be causing them any pain, procedures that can be done in one visit," said Dr. Forte.

Jim says it is a huge help for him and many others.

"A lot of vets now are struggling, they don't have a lot of jobs, they're laid off and their benefits are expunged so it will help them out a great deal," he said.

Lakeview Dental is booking appointments now. Interested veterans will need to schedule an appointment by calling 856-784-7900.
