Thrift shop savings for back-to-school

FEASTERVILLE, Pa. - Aug. 17, 2012

At Impact Thrift in Feasterville, they're out to prove you don't have to break the bank to find outfits your children will want to wear.

Heather Hamilton of Impact explains, "We have from Gap to Old Navy to Abercrombie to Hollister, Aeropostale, all those great names that the kids really like."

On Satuday, August 18, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., the store will be hosting a fashion show featuring 40 different outfit ideas for all ages as they head back-to-school.

We got a sneak peek at some of them and have created an online slide show featuring the ensembles and their retail versus thrift shop prices.

Charlotte showd us a top from Gymboree, Gap jeans and pink Uggs clogs. The outfit would retail for more than $120 -- but buying gently used at Impact, it's just $11.50.

Sara modeled a Gap top, Old Navy skirt and Uggs. Instead of the $155 retail price, her outfit's $18.

And it's not just girls who can find bargains.

James wore a Gap shirt and jeans, along with Timberland boots. Total price $16 -- instead of the $125 retail.

Dan modeled a Land's End polo and boots along with Old Navy cargo pants. They ring in at $11 at Impact, instead of $75 retail.

And the Saturday fashion show is just the beginning.

Hamilton explains, "Afterwards, we're going to have a workshop on how to shop at a thrift store, some hands-on how to pick outfits and put items together."

And all month, teachers with identification cards can save 25% off all their purchases.
