Jon Cousin told investigators that he was shot in the chest after pulling up to a suspicious car on Monday.
On Tuesday, Bucks County Authorities said that Cousin staged the entire thing.
Cousin had been held on $150,000 bail.
His attorney says Cousin is extremely remorseful and embarrassed. His lawyer also says he voluntarily admitted himself to the hospital for a full-psychiatric evaluation.
