Actor Sherman Hemsley remembered in Phila.

PHILADELPHIA - September 22, 2012

Photographs of the man who made George Jefferson a household name in the 70's, lined Arch Street United Methodist Church Saturday morning.

Hemsley spent 40 years as a beloved television actor, first introduced on "All in the Family" and then on the "Jefferson's".

The comedian even incorporated West Philadelphia's Mount Pisgah AME church into the opening of the show "Amen".

Hemsley died of cancer in July. He was 74.
