Train service resuming after Wilmington gas leak

WILMINGTON, Del. - September 26, 2012

Rescuers were called to the Amtrak yard off Vandever Avenue in the northeast side of Wilmington for a leak in a 500 gallon propane tank.

The leak was first reported around 9:30 a.m.

By 11:45 a.m., both SEPTA and Amtrak said their trains, which were stopped for precautionary reasons, were going back in service..

Authorities on the scene say the incident was isolated to the Amtrak facility.

No firefighter or civilian injuries have been reported at this time.
