The shooting happened Monday at 9:54 p.m. at the victim's home on the 1200 block of West 2nd Street.
Police say the suspect, 27-year-old Joshua Stephenson, got into an argument with the victim.
An altercation ensued and Stephenson shot the victim multiple times in his upper body.
Officers responded to the residence and located the victim.
The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Early Wednesday morning, police executed a search warrant at the suspect's home on the 3200 block of North Van Buran Street.
Stephenson was taken into custody without incident.
