It happened around 9:00 p.m. in the 200 block of Upper Pike Creek Road in Pike Creek, Delaware.
Police say the vehicle overturned and hit several trees while going down an embankment.
The driver was trapped in the wreckage while crews worked to free him.
He was taken to Christiana Hospital with serious injuries.
The accident is under investigation.
