Officials in the City of Chester offered a report card of sorts Thursday for law enforcement initiatives.

They also announced some goals for 2013.

Last year, officers in Chester made more than 2100 arrests.

Weapons-related assaults, burglaries, and arsons also dropped to some of the lowest rates in years.

Chester Mayor John Linder said reducing gun violence will remain a major focus moving forward.

Meantime, the Police Department announced it will expand a community relations initiative.

Chester Police Commissioner Joseph Bail, Jr. added that citizen action is key in locking up violent criminals.
