20 people charged in Ocean County heroin raids

TOMS RIVER, N.J. - June 19, 2013

The arrests come after the county's overdose death count rose to 60 this weekend.

The county's Special Operations Group Task Force carried out the raids in Bayville, Barnegat, Lacey and Lakewood.

Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato said "My Special Operation Group Task Force and supporting departments are to be commended for their courage and dedication in policing the dangerous world of the drug trade."

The arrests came from four separate operations over the past five days, and the target of one of the raids remains at large.

Search warrant at 2 Lexington Boulevard in Barnegat - June 15th

On Saturday, June 15th, police executed a search warrant at 2 Lexington Boulevard in Barnegat, N.J.

There, police allegedly found 50 bags of heroin and a loaded gun.

The man police were searching for, 31-year-old George Burke, was not home.

Arrest warrants were filed charging Burke with Possession of heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a CDS Offense, and Certain Persons not to Possess a Firearm.

Anyone with information on Burke's whereabouts is asked to call the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Special Operations Group at 732-341-6150.

Search warrant at 226 Rosewood Drive in Bayville - June 17th

The most recent arrests happened on Monday at 226 Rosewood Drive in Bayville, N.J.

Police say they executed a search warrant there and found enough paraphernalia to make more than 4,000 individual doses of heroin.

The drugs were worth between $22,500 and $37,500, the prosecutor's office said.

Arrested in this raid were:

Dayzjuwon Johnson, 22, of 226 Rosewood Drive in Bayville, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of approximately 100 grams of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Maintaining a Fortified Structure, Maintaining a CDS (Heroin) Manufacturing Facility, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held on $250,000 cash.

Garen Luckey, 23, of 226 Rosewood Drive in Bayville, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of approximately 100 grams of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Maintaining a Fortified Structure, Maintaining a CDS (Heroin) Manufacturing Facility, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held on $250,000 cash.

JoAnna Luckey, 26, 226 Rosewood Drive in Bayville, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of approximately 100 grams of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Maintaining a Fortified Structure, Maintaining a CDS (Heroin) Manufacturing Facility, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She is being held on $250,000 cash.

William Kablis, 28, of 32 Buckingham Drive in Manchester, was charged with Conspiracy to Possess Heroin. He was released on his own recognizance.

Anthony Schroen, 27, of 102 JoAnna Drive in Toms River, was charged with Conspiracy to Possess Heroin. He was released on his own recognizance.

Motor vehicle stop in Lacey Twp. - June 14th

At 7:15 p.m. on Friday, June 14th, officers armed with search and arrest warrants conducted a motor vehicle stop at Route 9 and Jones Road in Lacey Township.

There, police searched two vehicles and arrested six people:

Tracey Beard a.k.a.Tracey Gettis, 42, of 199 Clay Street in Bayville, was charged with three counts each of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, and Distribution of Heroin. She is being held on $50,000 with no ten percent option.

Jason Wilkins. 42, of 322 Grand Central Parkway in Bayville, was charged with two counts each of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, and Distribution of Heroin. He is being held on $50,000 with no ten percent option.

Carmen Varga, 35, of 39 Adelphia Road in Toms River, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance.

Shawn G. Schenck, 36, of 8503 4 Sisters Lane in Charlotte, NC, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance.

Brooke A. Johnson, 25, of 1255 Route 166 Apt. A-6 in Toms River, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was released on her own recognizance.

Haskell T. Williams, 21, of 312 West Lakeside Avenue in Columbia, SC, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance.

Search warrant at 966 County Line Road in Lakewood - June 14th

In the early morning hours of Friday, June 14th, police executed search warrants for apartments 1 and 2 at 966 County Line Road in Lakewood.

There, police allegedly found 500 bags of heroin, a loaded gun and a small amount of marijuana.

A total of eight people were arrested during this raid:

Marcus Samuels, 25, of 966 County Line Road Apartment 2 in Lakewood, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a CDS Offense, Certain Persons not to Possess a Firearm, and two counts each of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, and Distribution of Heroin. He is being held on $350,000 cash.

Cristen Reebe, 23, of 12 Renee Court in Forked River, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a CDS Offense, Certain Persons not to Possess a Firearm, and two counts each of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, and Distribution of Heroin. She is being held on $75,000 cash.

Isaac Ross, 30, of 96 Belmont Street in South Toms River, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a CDS Offense, Certain Persons not to Possess a Firearm, and two counts each of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, and Distribution of Heroin. He is being held on $175,000 cash.

Jamar Johnson, 34, of 966 County Line Road in Lakewood, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Marijuana. He is being held on $100,000 with no ten percent option.

Dawn Rosser, 32, of 966 County Line Road in Lakewood, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana. She is being held on $100,000 with no ten percent option.

Arrin Gattling, 21, of 35 Churchill Road in Whiting, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Marijuana. He is being held on $35,000 with no ten percent option.

Davonte Howard, 22, of 1100 Atlantic Avenue in Asbury Park, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Marijuana. He is being held on $50,000 with no ten percent option.

Mathew Cox, 27, of 106 Whispering Oaks in Jackson, was charged with Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. He was released on a summons.
