Authorities in South Centre Township say they'd been investigating the May 18 report made by 24-year-old Berwick resident Tasha Ann Jenkins. The Press Enterprise reports she said she had been arguing with her boyfriend and that she got out of the car and he drove off.
Police say she called 911 to report she'd been kidnapped and raped by a group of men in a van. But authorities say she eventually told them she wanted to make her boyfriend feel bad for leaving her behind. She's charged with making false statements and making a false report.
It couldn't immediately be determined if Jenkins had an attorney.
