The crash happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on Spring Mill Road at Morris Avenue.
Police say the person killed was the sole occupant in that vehicle.
The second vehicle had a driver and a child. While the driver was not seriously hurt, the child was had to be rushed to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
The view from Chopper 6 HD showed a red car with damage to the side and a white van on its side.
There was no immediate word as to the cause of the crash.
The names of those involved have not been released.
Spring Mill Road was closed between Mt. Pleasant and Old Gulph roads for about four hours but has since reopened.
