PHOTO: 2 deer found stuck in Pennsylvania well

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Pa. - November 14, 2013

The Pennsylvania Game Commission sent a photo of the trapped 8-point bucks after they were found at the bottom of the seven-foot-deep well on Tuesday afternoon in Springfield Township.

According to the Game Commission, the deer were found by a small game hunter.

The hunter, along with the property owner and a wildlife conservation officer, removed part of the well to get access to the deer.

The men then used a rope to pull the deer out by their antlers.

Both animals were able to run off on "wobbly legs, only a little worse for wear," according to the Game Commission.

"This was an unusual set of circumstances," said the wildlife conservation officer, Richard Briggs, in a news release. "The two deer were of equal size and they might have fallen in the well during the act of fighting for dominance."

The Game Commission said the well was filled in immediately after the incident.
