Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter sent out a stern warning Monday to anyone taking part in what is being called the knockout game.

Mayor Nutter held a news conference to respond to recent reports of the random attacks.

"There's no excuse of this behavior. It will not be tolerated in the city. We will do everything we can to prevent, but if someone does engage, we will catch you. You will be prosecuted and your life will be changed dramatically," Nutter said.

The mayor said that anyone caught for committing this crime face charges from simple assault, to third degree murder, depending the extent of a victim's injuries.
