Refrigerated food and power outages

February 5, 2014

In the refrigerator, you can keep breads, butter and margarine, and things like ketchup or pickles and condiments if they have been above 40 degrees for more than two hours.

But meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and leftovers should be tossed out, along with salads and greens.

In the freezer, food with ice crystals can be refrozen safely.
