The body was discovered at 6:30 a.m. Friday lying between two parked cars in the 1400 block of North 57th Street.
The deceased woman was later identified as 29-year-old Christina Sankey of the 1900 block of Ellsworth Street.
Sankey was last seen around 2:30 p.m. Thursday while shopping with her caregiver at the Macy's store at 1300 Market Street. Police say she became separated from her caregiver and wandered away.
Sankey suffered from autism, police said, and did not have the ability to speak.
Police say there were no obvious signs of foul play.
An investigation is underway.
