3 teens stabbed in Northeast Philadelphia, 7 arrested

PHILADELPHIA - March 21, 2014

Police say a 17, 18 and 19-year-old were stabbed near the corner of Rowland and Oakmont Streets just before 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Witnesses told police that a group of eight to nine males and one female were walking on the opposite side of the street when someone threw a glass bottle.

A verbal altercation between the parties occurred and then a fight broke out, police say.

The 17-year-old suffered the most severe injuries with stab wounds to the back and head. He was rushed to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children as a trauma alert.

Both the 18-year-old and 19-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds to the back. They were rushed to Aria Torresdale Hospital for treatment.

All three victims are in stable condition.

Police say they apprehended six males and a 20-year-old woman from inside a home on the 3400 block of Lansing Street.

The males were taken outside and positively identified by multiple witnesses as the suspects, officials say.

The suspects face aggravated assault charges and related offenses.

The incident remains under investigation.
