Burlington Township woman mysteriously goes missing

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - March 31, 2014

Vanessa Smallwood was last seen on January 27 at a strip mall on the 500 block of Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill.

Her husband went into a dry cleaners and when he came out, Smallwood was gone and so was their 2005 silver Chrysler Town & Country.

The vehicle has New Jersey tags WSJ-52H.

Smallwood's family says there has been no credit card or bank activity since her disappearance.

"We've put things out through intelligence briefs and in the tri-state area to police departments that we're looking for her vehicle and for her. We haven't been able to locate her with telephone records, credit card records or anything like that," said Detective Brandon Roberson, Burlington Township Police.

Smallwood is a mother of three adult sons. She had been out on disability from her job with a private contractor at Philadelphia International Airport.

Her family is worried and concerned about her whereabouts. They say she has had some psychiatric problems in the past, but she has never disappeared like this.

"My brother told me that before she left she was acting funny. He said she sounded confused," said Aaron Williams, son.

"All we can do now is pray that she will show up," said John Williams, stepfather.

Anyone with information on Smallwood or her whereabouts is urged to contact the Burlington Township Police Department at 609-386-2019.
