Pa. boys choir founder faces 1,100 more charges

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) - April 14, 2014

Seventy-four-year-old Kenneth Schade of Wind Gap was taken into custody March 26. The founder of the Singing Boys Choir of Pennsylvania is accused of raping a teenage boy in 1996.

State police said Monday that the additional charges stem from a subsequent search of Schade's home in East Stroudsburg.

Schade called a neighbor from Monroe County prison and asked her to remove two locked suitcases from his home. Prison calls are recorded.

The neighbor gave the suitcases to authorities, who said they held more than a thousand pornographic pictures of children.

Schade now faces charges of criminal solicitation, tampering with evidence and 1,101 counts of sexual abuse of children for possession of child pornography.
