Police say the car collided with the incoming Media/Elwyn Regional Rail train around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.
According to authorities, a 32-year-old old woman, driving a silver Honda Civic, was traveling northbound on 56th Street and lost control of her vehicle.
The Civic crashed through a fence onto the SEPTA regional train tracks.
An incoming train then struck the vehicle.
Police say two passengers in the vehicle were injured.
A 20-year-old woman suffered chest pains. A 33-year-old woman suffered a busted lower lip.
Police arrested the driver of the car on DUI charges before bringing her and the two passengers to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
No passengers on the train injured.
