Man reported with sword in custody after Juniata Park barricade

JUNIATA PARK (WPVI) -- A man allegedly armed with a sword in Juniata Park is now in custody after being shocked with a stun gun.

The incident began around 11 a.m. Thursday on the 4300 block of K Street.

Police were called to the report of a man with a sword.

Once on the scene, officers found the man and used a stun gun to try to stop him.

The man, however, was able to pull the prongs out of his body and run into the home.

He barricaded himself inside until around 12:30 p.m. when he was taken into custody.
