PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police in Pleasantville, New Jersey said on Friday that there are two persons of interest in the shooting of rapper Beanie Sigel, but no arrests have been made.

Investigators also said Friday that Sigel remained hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

This, as police release more details about what happened the day Beanie Sigel was shot.

Officers were called to the 800 block of West Spruce Avenue in Pleasantville at 9:25 a.m. on Friday, December 5th.

There, officers say they met with a resident who said Sigel - whose real name is Dwight Grant - had been shot inside the house.

Sigel was shot in the chest with the bullet exiting his back.

That resident also allegedly told police his car, a silver Lincoln, had been stolen after the shooting. Police say that resident soon became uncooperative.

Meanwhile, police say officers encountered a gray Honda Odyssey that appeared to be fleeing the area.

A man jumped from the vehicle and was taken into custody. Police say that man was interviewed and released, but remains a person of interest.

The Honda was later located in the 100 block of East Washington Avenue.

Officers also say that the Honda is registered to a woman who is the sister of the West Spruce Avenue resident and is also Beanie Sigel's sister-in-law. Police say that woman is also a person of interest but they have not been able to locate her.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact police at 609-641-6100.

Last week, Beanie Sigel's attorney said his client was not the intended target of the shooting.

Beanie Sigel is no stranger to trouble.

Sigel was moved from federal prison to a halfway house in August after serving a two-year tax-evasion sentence and then released to home confinement in September.

In 2006, Sigel was shot in the arm in Philadelphia.
