Death of woman in Wilmington cornfield ruled suicide

WILMINGTON, Del. -- The death of a 28-year-old woman who was found in a Wilmington cornfield has been ruled a suicide.

New Castle County police say officers were responding to a report Sunday afternoon of a shooting on Ramsey Road when they found the woman with a 27-year-old man attempting to perform CPR on her.

On Monday, police said that her gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

Because the woman's death was ruled a suicide, no further details are expected.
