WILLOW GROVE, Pa. (WPVI) -- Survivors and supporters stepped off on a 60-mile journey Friday morning to help eradicate breast cancer.
It was a sea of pink rain jackets as the Susan G. Komen 3-Day kicked off in Willow Grove.
The event has raised more than $810 million since 2003 in the fight to end breast cancer.
For many of the people participating, the event is very personal.
"I'm a survivor - 19-months," one woman told Action News. "I'm running so my nieces and nephews will get to see me in 20, 30 years."
Participants will walk and camp out through the weekend before making their way to the finish line at the Navy Yard in South Philadelphia on Sunday.
