NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- A cab driver has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulted a female passenger.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. Sunday in Dewey Beach, Delaware.
According to police, the 22-year-old victim had just left the Lighthouse Bar and Restaurant and entered the front seat of a cab driven by the suspect, 30-year-old Khali Chablaoui.
Chablaoui is the owner/operator of the I-Taxi cab service, police said.
Police say the victim asked Chablaoui to drive her home and fell asleep inside the vehicle.
Then, according to police, the victim awoke to find Chablaoui sexually assaulting her.
The woman pushed him away and told him to take her home. She was dropped off around 10:15 p.m.
Chablaoui, of New Castle, surrendered to police on Thursday and was charged with 4th Degree Rape and is being held on $20,000 bond.
