Man hit with own car in California road-rage incident; 2 suspects sought

HEMET, Calif. -- Police in Hemet, California released video Monday of a man being hit with his own car in hopes of catching the two suspects involved in the road-rage incident. The victim was injured, but survived and is listed in stable condition.

Officers responded to a report of a verbal disturbance in the 1400 block of S. Gilbert Street on Friday at approximately 6:56 a.m.

Upon their arrival, they discovered a 53-year-old man "lying in the street, unable to move, suffering from injuries consistent with being hit by a car," police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

During the later investigation, detectives learned the incident was a result of an ongoing road-rage incident in which one of the two suspects stole the victim's car.

In video obtained by the Hemet Police Department, one suspect is seen arguing with the victim, and a second suspect is seen intentionally hitting the victim with his own car.

The two suspects abandoned the victim's car and fled the scene in a white 2006-2011 standard cab Ford pickup truck. Investigators believe the truck may have a broken rear cab window, in addition to a broken driver's side window.

The first suspect was described as a Hispanic or white man, between 18 and 25 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with a thin build and brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and a black baseball-style hat.

The second suspect was described as a Hispanic or white man, between 18 and 25 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with a thin build and brown hair. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a white short-sleeve shirt and a black and white baseball-style hat backwards.
