1 teen killed, 4 injured in Delaware crash

LAUREL, Del. (WPVI) -- A 17-year-old girl was killed and four other teens were injured in a crash in Laurel, Delaware.

The accident happened around 4:30 Saturday morning on Old Sharptown Road.

Police say 17-year-old Seth Edwards was driving a Buick Century when he lost control on a curve, striking a utility pole.

A rear passenger, identified as 17-year-old Erica Colbourne, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four other passengers - two 16-year-old males, a 15-year-old male, and a 16-year-old female - were also injured.

They were taken to area hospitals where they were treated for minor injuries.

The driver was not harmed.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
