Memorial held amid plea for help in woman's death

GLOUCESTER TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A memorial was held Monday for Carol Reiff, who was found dead in Gloucester Township, Camden County last year, as investigators continue to ask for the public's help in the case.

During the memorial service on Monday, one co-workers sang 'Amazing Grace' while others offered stories and poems to remember her.

Reiff, 59, was an avid runner, so her friends collected 100 pairs of shoes affixed to purple balloons for her favorite charity, the Purple Heart foundation.

Her daughter and frequent running partner, Dawn Centanni, talked of her Mom's varied interests.

"She liked to read books, she liked to go out, she had jumped out of airplanes, she had run half-marathons," Centanni said.

At the end of the gathering the purple balloons were released.

Reiff was found dead three days after she was reported missing on June 21, 2013.

She was found in a wooded area near her home at Lakeview Apartments.

While her death has not been ruled a homicide, investigators previously said they were treating it as a crime.

Investigators say evidence suggests foul play in the case, but they won't say what that evidence is.

"Our investigators feel very strongly that there are people out there that can contact us and could bring this to a resolution," said Camden County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Jason Laughlin.

So, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said up to $20,000 in reward money is available. $10,000 will be paid if an arrest is made thanks to a tip, while another $10,000 will be paid if there is a conviction.
