Injured bird rescued in Center City

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A "boxed-in" bird was the focus of attention in Center City Tuesday night.

A Philadelphia police officer stood guard at 16th and Market as animal control officer arrived to take care of the injured animal, likely a hawk.

If it gets the all-clear from vets at a checkup it will be set free.

If not, it will be turned over the Schuylkill Center Bird Rescue for rehabilitation.
