New video released of gunmen in Center City shooting
CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have released new video of two men suspected in back-to-back crimes in Center City.
The first incident happened around 3 a.m. Saturday in front of the Wawa at Broad and Walnut streets.
Police say a 26-year-old man was leaving the Rising Tide on the 900 block of Race Street. He then stopped at the Wawa store to make a purchase.
As he was leaving the store, police say two men approached him and allegedly asked if he wanted to buy a "molly," a narcotic drug.
The victim told police he declined, and then the suspects gave him a small sample to ingest. When he decline again, the victim says he was punched in the face by one of the suspects.
The suspects then walked away, police say, but the victim followed them. He says he confronted the suspects on the 200 block of Juniper Street.
According to the victim, the suspects told him they were from California and not to mess with them.
The suspects then shot the man in the leg, police say.
He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.
They suspects ran to the 200 block of South 15th Street, where, police say, they tried to rob another man. They also fired at this man, but missed him.
One suspect is described as a black male, mid-20s, with a beard. He was seenwearing a tan shirt.
The second suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 25 years of age.
Police are checking the cameras of the businesses in the area.
