The Center for Sports Medicine and Performance at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is the region's premier healthcare resource for young athletes. They are specially trained to meet the unique needs of young athletes and provide a comprehensive range of services, including medical management, injury prevention strategies, nutritional counseling, and performance enhancement training.

Naomi Brown, MD, is a graduate of Tufts University and Tufts University School of Medicine, both in Boston, MA. She completed her pediatrics residency at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and a specialized fellowship in sports medicine at Boston Children's Hospital. Today, Dr. Brown works at CHOP's Main Campus in Philadelphia and CHOP Care Network locations in Voorhees, NJ, and King of Prussia, PA. She has specialized training in the use of ultrasound medicine into the office setting, which can be a useful adjunct to diagnose and treat acute and chronic injuries. She is also active in orthopedic and sports medicine research, and has written and presented numerous papers about her research. Read more.
Roni L. Robinson, RN, MNS, CRNP is a pediatric nurse practitioner at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. At CHOP, She works with the Division of Orthopedic Surgery, The Center for Sports and Performance Medicine and the Trauma Program. Roni completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Delaware, Newark, DE, where she received her BSN in nursing. She completed her graduate studies at The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, where she received her MSN in the Pediatric and Acute/Chronic Nurse Practitioner Program. Roni's research and clinic interests are in pediatric and adolescent concussion. She has published material in peer reviewed journals and has lectured extensively about concussion in children and adolescents and helped develop the program Concussion Care for Kids: Minds Matter at CHOP. Christian Turner, MD is a graduate of the State University of New York School of Medicine, completed his residency at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and a specialized fellowship in primary care sports medicine at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He has training in general non-operative musculoskeletal medicine and is interested in injury prevention and rehabilitation, as well as the use of exercise as medicine. As a former college basketball player, Dr. Turner has a unique perspective on guiding athletes through returning to play from injury.
