2 dead after cars collide in Chester, Pa.

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Two people are dead following a crash in Chester, Delaware County.

The crash happened around 1:00 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of West 2nd (Rt. 291) and Pusey Streets.

A witness told Action News a red car appeared to be speeding down West 2nd Street when it collided with a white car.

That witness said the sound of the impact was heart-stopping.

The striking car kept going about a block before coming to a stop.

Authorities say the two people who died were in the red car.

Accident investigators remained on the scene gathering information.

Police have not identified the victims and have not said if any charges would be filed.
