A 4-year-old child's school lunch is triggering controversy at a Colorado school.
Natalee Pearson's mom packed Oreos in her daughter's bag for dessert on Friday.
She was shocked when her child came home with a note scolding her for including cookies in the mid-day meal.
School officials said all students must have a nutritious lunch, and Oreos do not make the cut.
Natalee's mother, Leeza Pearson is now demanding a better explanation.
She says, "They don't provide lunch for my daughter. I provide lunch. It's between me and the doctor in terms of what's healthy for her."
Officials say, the school did provide the girl with a replacement snack.
The school district is looking into the incident.
