A counterfeit $10 bill used at a water ice stand led to the arrest of an Abington Twp. couple.

ABINGTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities say a counterfeit $10 bill used at a Montgomery County water ice stand led to the arrest of an Abington Township couple.

Abington Township police say it was approximately 6:15 p.m. last Thursday when 35-year-old Angela Mazzoni allegedly used the counterfeit money to make a purchase at Rita's Water Ice on Easton Road in Glenside.

The bill was later determined to be counterfeit, and the investigation led to Mazzoni's home on Johnston Avenue in Roslyn.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Friday police executed a search warrant on the home and seized 265 counterfeit $10 bills along with approximately $6,000 in authentic United States Currency.

Authorities say both Mazzoni and her husband, 35-year-old David S. Mazzoni, were at home when the warrant was executed and both were taken into custody.

Angela Mazzoni and David S. Mazzoni are both now charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of instruments of crime, and two separate counts of Forgery.
