Police: Couple dead in apparent murder-suicide in Deptford Twp., N.J.

DEPTFORD, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police say a 67-year-old husband and his 72-year-old wife have died in what appears to be a murder-suicide in Deptford Township, New Jersey.

Officers received a call around 8:17 a.m. Saturday from the husband about a shooting on the 200 block of Idlewood Way.

When officers arrived to the couple's home, they found both the husband and wife with life-threatening injuries.

The husband was taken to Inspira Hospital in Woodbury where he was pronounced dead.

The wife was taken to Cooper Medical Center where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police have not identified the couple pending notification of relatives.

The incident is being investigated by the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office and the Deptford Township Police.
