CHARLESTOWN TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A trash truck burst into flames, shutting down the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike at the beginning of the Thursday morning rush hour.
It happened at 5:30 a.m. in Charlestown Township.
Police shut down all westbound lanes between Route 29 and Downington as firefighters arrived on the scene to put out the fire.
A 3.5-mile backup was reported approaching the Downington exit.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
