Crime Fighters: Who killed Rasheen Allen?

HUNTING PARK (WPVI) -- A mother, still grieving the loss of her son, is hoping that a reward of up to $21,500 will help find his killer.

"Rasheen was, to me, a good and kind hearted person," said Nadra Allen.

Allen says the pain of losing her son Rasheen and the reality that his son will grow up without him is always with her.

"Any parent that go through that...you live with that hurt as long as you live," said Allen.

On Wednesday December 30, 2009, 30-year-old Rasheen was out with two of his friends in Philadelphia's Hunting Park section.

Around 7:15 p.m. that night, police were called for the report of shots fired on the 4400 block of North Marshall Street.

"I got a call saying that, 'Miss Nadra, I hate to tell you but your son is no longer here with us,'" said Allen.

Police say two men approached the trio and demanded money.

Rasheen was shot once in the head and killed. His friends were hospitalized with injuries.

"That whole night is just in my mind day after day after day after day and it just hurts so much," said Allen.

Neither survivor has been able to give police any leads.

Allen is hoping a hefty reward will entice someone to come forward with information.

"I want justice. Whoever did this, I don't want them to get away with what they did because they turned our life upside down, inside out and it hurts," said Allen.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $1,500 reward.

While the City of Philadelphia is offering up to $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
