$30,000 reward offered for killer of teen bystander in Newark, Delaware

The FBI has joined the search for the killer who gunned down a teenage boy, an innocent bystander who was leaving a party in Newark, Delaware.

The agency added another $10,000 to a reward fund, bringing the total to $30,000.

The murder happened on December 28, 2013 at the Brookside Community Center at 900 Marrows Road.

Police say 16-year-old D'Andre Green was leaving a holiday party when a fight broke out in the front parking lot.

D'Andre was not involved in the fight and attempted to run away when shots were fired.

He was struck several times in the crossfire and later died from his injuries.

He died in his best friends arms.

"It hurts, it really hurts," said his mother, Kendelynn Green. "I miss my baby."

Police say dozens of witnesses saw the fight and were in the area when D'Andre was shot.

"We interviewed over a 150 people and not one said a bad thing about this kid," said Detective John Ziemba.

D'Andre's father, Wayne Green, says he lives with the pain every day.

"It just seems unfair," he said. "You do everything right and everything so wrong happens."

The FBI wants people to know they are accustomed to working with witnesses and, more importantly, keeping their identity anonymous as the legal process plays out.
