Alligator suspected in man's death in Florida

ORANGE CITY, Fla. (WPVI) -- Authorities say it appears a man snorkeling at a Florida park was killed by an alligator.

The man was snorkeling Monday near Orange City with two friends when he suddenly disappeared under the water.

Several hours later the man's body was found near an alligator.

Florida wildlife officers shot and killed a 12-foot alligator they believe may have been responsible.

The swimming area where the man died had been closed Sunday after an alligator was spotted several times.
