NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating two crashes that happened just minutes apart on the same road in New Castle, Delaware.

The first crash happened on River Road (Route 9) south of Dobbinsville around 8:30 a.m. Friday.

That crash involved three vehicles, and left three people injured.

Then a short time later, a semi-truck struck a bicyclist in the area of Graham Lane.

The bicyclist, a man between 30 and 40 years old, was taken to the hospital. There was no immediate word on his condition.

Police have not said if the crashes are related.
