Applebee's manager shot walking to car in Newark, Del.

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- The manager of an Applebee's restaurant was shot in Newark, Delaware early Saturday morning.

The shooting happened just after 2 a.m. in the Suburban Plaza Shopping Center.

Police say the night manager had just left work and was walking to his car when he was confronted by two men.

While trying to rob the manager the suspects opened fire, then fled on foot.

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

There has been no word on any arrests.
